From the Heart - Support Services
First Nations Employment and Enterprise Centre
Success through Results and Relationships
by Kristin Kozuback
The First Nations Employment Society (FNES) began in April of 1997, as a non-profit society to support the growing number of Urban Aboriginals from 10 community First Nations of the Lower Mainland. Employment and Training support services of FNES gradually expanded to provide services for all urban Aboriginal people in the Greater Vancouver area, so by 1999 they were ready to move into its current home at #101 - 440 Cambie Street in downtown Vancouver. Look below for the story of their Totem Pole! An Aboriginal Human Resource Development Agreement (AHRDA) presented the opportunity for FNES to extablish the First Nations Employment and Enterprise Centre (FNEEC). The Goal of FNES is to help Urban Aboriginal people to take control and responsibility for the employment and training requirements of its community. Read on for more information...
