WHAT'S NEW

Editor's note:

To get a real feel for how easily customers can reach the right person in your company, try calling your firm anonymously from the outside. You may be surprised at what you hear.

It sounds simple, but people today are using desk phones, cell phones, PDAs, e-mail and IM. Clients and colleagues must guess the best way to reach them, and more than half of all first attempts fail. Think of the delays that causes. The odds improve greatly if your company integrates all these devices with Unified Messaging or a “universal access number.”

You can make it easier for your customers and team members to reach you in 2007. Take a minute now to peruse this issue and you’ll walk away with info that can help you create a technology roadmap for 2007.

(p.s. Don’t forget – the IRS has extended until December 31st, 2006 a tax break allowing companies to write off up to $100,000 in 2006 capital expenditures like new IP PBX phones, routers, or servers.)

1. "Unified Communication Application: Uses and Benefits"
This 2006 Sage Research whitepaper quantifies the dollar-for-dollar return on investment from unified communications. Includes benchmarks from current users (over 200 small, medium, and large organizations were surveyed) showing real productivity gains and out-of-pocket cost savings. Data includes 11 color charts showing time and money saved with unified messaging. The best real-world reference for evaluating the technology. Show me samples of the 11 charts and the link to my complimentary copy.

2. 11/15: Show me the Money on VoIP! (4 seats left as of Noon 11/10)
If you are evaluating VoIP for your business, why not learn from those who already have completed their rollouts? Our 60 minute webinar on Wed 11/15 provides a customer example showing VoIP dollar for dollar return on investment. (Can't make it that day? Consider sending in the registration form anyway with 'just send me the take-aways' checked off – you can still get 4 of the 6 take aways.) See the agenda and link to register

3. The Seven Critical Success Factors for IP Migration
If your business relies on a traditional PBX system, a move to using VoIP can promptly help you sell more, cut costs, and work much more efficiently. Our brief “Secrets of IP Telephony Pros: the SOS IP Communications Checklist” reveals the 7 key steps in any voice and data migration and the 14 things to  consider as you approach an IP telephony system acquisition. Includes five examples showing cost of ownership and ROI. See more of the contents.

“I've been doing something with computers since I was about 11 years old, programming games on my Commodore 64,” Davidson says. “As the technologies progressed, so did I.”

5. Our 15 minutes? SOS looms a bit larger on Northern California business scene
“What is a Baby Blue Chip?” we asked, when Prosper magazine published a list with our name on it. Turns out that it’s a good thing (it means SOS is one of the 10 area companies showing the most economic potential for 2007). Thank you, clients, for making this achievement and other recent kudos possible! A sneak peek here at our upcoming 11/6 press release reveals our other recent awards and achievements.
