IN EFFECT: Business VoIP

According to a 2007 study conducted by Infonetics Research, Enterprise adoption of VoIP technology in North America will double by 2010, with almost half of small and two-thirds of large organizations in North America be using it by then.
This graph shows what will happen if adoption continues at the same rate. Actually it’s a conservative estimate. Many industry experts think we’ve reached a tipping point, and the rate of adoption will likely increase.
What does this mean about what is happening today? It means that this is already a mainstream technology that thousands are benefiting from.
Infonetics also found that many companies moving from TDM to business VoIP are decommisioning their legacy TDM PBXs. That is the "the ultimate show of confidence, illustrating that VoIP has become enterprise-grade.”
It's important to note that business VoIP is not “Voice over Internet.” Voice over Internet is what many consumer services, such as Vonage, offer today. Business VoIP involves dedicated circuits and committed bandwidth which is inherently different than the consumer services.
