Tulsa Affiliate Formation
Tulsa, Oklahoma is proud to announce the formation of a new SME affiliate. On October 2, 2001 the charter meeting was held at the Philbrook Museum to provide an informational overview of Sales and Marketing Executives International. Caren Shaffer, Chairman and Past President of SMEI delivered the keynote address. Within the first 30 days of the charter meeting, 20 individuals have paid dues and joined the foremost organization serving sales and marketing executives.

Tanis Cornell of Williams Communications Group will serve as President. Tanis also serves on the International Board of Directors and is very excited about the new Tulsa affiliate. “The climate is right for an SME chapter in Tulsa. Today’s economy and the recent events in our world make it more important than ever to increase our skill set, exchange ideas with other professionals, and determine how to lead our companies through these trying times. We’ve had a great deal of interest in SME shown by the community and I believe that over the next several months we’ll build an active and thriving affiliate.”

The Board of Directors will include representatives from public relations firm Goodwin and Grant; communications companies Southwestern Bell, MCI, Teaco, and MBO; coaching and consulting firm Seaman Associates; staffing companies Adecco, Rowland Technical Staffing and Express Personnel; sign company Ameriban, SpiritBank, and Junior Achievement
