On October 18th, 2006, Corporate Report Wisconsin honored Skyward with an award as a Small Business Success Story for the state of Wisconsin.
The awards were open to businesses from around the state of Wisconsin with at least 5 employees and no more than 250. Corporate Report Wisconsin, in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh College of Business and Associated Bank, annually hands out the Small Business Success Stories awards to Wisconsin based companies. A team of five judges reviewed the nominations from across the state and selected Skyward as one of the 8 winners.
According to Scott Glinski, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Skyward, “We were very pleased to have been selected in what was Skyward’s last year of eligibility. At the time we had 248 employees and we have since grown to 259 employees with the expectation of adding 20 additional staff members over the next year. This award is an acknowledgment of Jim King’s vision in regards to the need for an administrative software package for schools and his leadership and commitment in founding Skyward and leading it to the forefront of the educational technology industry. "
Skyward was selected for its combination of growth and stability. Starting out from the humble beginnings of the family garage in Stevens Point on September 1, 1980 under the original name Jim King & Associates, Skyward has grown to become one of the premier providers of K-12 Administrative Software in the country. Over the past two years Skyward has posted an annual sales increase of 38% and expanded its corporate headquarters in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. In addition, branch offices were opened in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas along with adding customers in Utah, New Jersey, and New Delhi, India.
