School Specialty Integration Helps Skyward Users
As Pulaski Community School District and Kewaskum School District looked to streamline their purchasing process, they wanted to take advantage of online ordering to make the process easier for end-users and save money through discounts and efficiency.  By turning to School Specialty and implementing the integration of School Specialty’s online purchasing website with Skyward’s web requisition process, they accomplished this with ease.
School Specialty’s online ordering features accurate pricing with district discounts, product images, and full descriptions, along with the options to search by part number, keyword, or category.  The integration through Skyward Employee Access ensures funds are immediately and accurately encumbered and purchase orders are transferred electronically upon final approval.  The interface works with all of the School Specialty Online Stores including: School Specialty Education Essentials, Sax Arts & Crafts, Sax Family & Consumer Science, Sportime, Abilitations, Integrations, Speech Bin, Frey Scientific, Brodhead Garrett, ABC School Supply, Childcraft, and Hammond & Stephens.  The districts enjoy the integration with School Specialty due to the breadth of the products offered and the ability to get any sort of educational materials they need from one supplier!
“The schools like that they do not have to enter the order online and then go to the purchasing system and enter the PO. They also like the fact that the prices are the correct amount with the discounts we receive. This helps for budget totals.”
Cheryl Stutzman - Accounts Payable, Pulaski Community School District, Pulaski WI
“The Skyward Web Requisition interface to School Specialty’s website has streamlined our requisitioning process.  Building secretaries can take advantage of online ordering without having to key the requisitions again into Skyward.  Pricing is displayed accurately and invoices accurately match the purchase orders.”
Deb Schubert – Purchasing, Kewaskum School District, Kewaskum WI.
So how does the process work?  While creating a requisition in Skyward’s Employee Access, you simply choose a School Specialty vendor and you will be routed to School Specialty’s website and logged in automatically. Creating a requisition is as easy as placing items into your online shopping cart.  Keying a requisition only requires the part number and quantity; the product information and price fills in automatically.  Once finished, your requisition is automatically populated into Skyward with line-item detail.  Now, your requisition can go through your standard approval process, funds can be encumbered, and a purchase order can be cut.  Rather than printing the purchase order and mailing or faxing, your requisition can be sent to School Specialty electronically.
Many School Districts across the nation are already taking advantage of this interface and there are no additional charges to implement.  Access can be reserved for only those personnel involved in purchasing, or granted to teachers for their own requisitions within Skyward.  Since it is web-based, all users need is internet access.
