And now it has happened with all the fan fare and headlines anyone could ask for. The yield curve has inverted. I won’t bore you with information you already know on the basis that I have beat this dead horse with two full updates in the last month, but the 2 year treasury note yield briefly exceeded the 10 year treasury note yield and the event is significant. Let’s put all the fear and speculation to rest and just look again at the hard facts regarding the market’s response to the last yield curve inversion that took place in February of 2000.
