EUUG/DUG Joint Conference Convenes in Beautiful Barcelona

| The first joint conference of the European Unicorn User Group (EUUG) and the Dynix User Group (DUG) took place in Barcelona May 2-4 in the picturesque surroundings of the Col•legi d'Arquitectes de Catalunya and Hotel Colon in Plaza Nova. There were more than 170 delegates to the conference, including representatives from Europe and the Middle East.
Keith Sturges, president of SirsiDynix International, began the conference with the company's vision of the future, “The Power of ONE.” He emphasized ONE Platform, ONE Vision and ONE Company.
User groups were pleased to meet with the following company representatives from SirsiDynix: Talin Bingham, chief technology officer; John Dickson, vice president, Software Development; Yonn Samuels, vice president, Software Development; and Tom Gates, vice president, Marketing. The atmosphere was lively and stimulating, with attendees not only listening, but also asking questions and making suggestions. They appreciated the opportunity to talk to the software developers directly.

| About 80 conference attendees took advantage of an enjoyable sightseeing bus tour of the most popular tourist attractions in Barcelona on Wednesday evening. The conference dinner was held on Thursday at Brasserie Flo, Barcelona, where everyone enjoyed networking with one another.
This year’s conference was very special for both Horizon and Unicorn user groups, as it was the first joint conference between the two.
