We are just starting beta for Telephone Messaging 3. This new version will include the following:
-
Item Renewal information is updated mid-call with the new due date.
- Call Transfers allows inbound callers to be transferred to an operator, library phone extension, or some other library service.
- Date Exclusion allows libraries to determine if calls are made on holidays or other specified dates.
- New prompts are delivered that provide proper Spanish pronunciations for every number up to 100.
- A new voice option is available (called Cathy).
- Libraries receive the ability to change some additional dialing parameters such as the number of rings before disconnecting and the number of retries/attempts.
- The reporting tool has been improved and includes the following:
· Outbound Summary Report
· Outbound Detail Reports
· Month-To-Date Outbound Reports no longer break down activity by Message type
· Month-To-Date Inbound Reports
· Functionality Usage report by Hour
· Port Usage for Inbound Calls By Hour of the day filtered by a Date Range
· Patron Activity Search for Outbound and Inbound calls
- Microsoft SQL Express is replacing Microsoft Access as the runtime database engine that supports the reporting. Crystal Reports is now used as the reporting engine.
- Patrons will have the option to record their own name for use by TM3 Outbound instead of the name being played through TM3 text-to-speech engine.
- A change to the inbound call flow will allow the patron to (1) listen to hold items that have been filled and are ready to be collected and (2) listen to hold items that are unfilled and are not yet ready to be collected.
- Alternative Call Progress detects and confirms that the appropriate patron receives the message.
Horizon 8.0/Corinthian
We are continuing to make progress with the beta testing of Horizon 8.0/Corinthian. Recently we have focused on response time throughout the system and have made strides in areas like browse searching and indexing. We are also in the process of testing our upgrade scripts that will be used to upgrade Horizon 7.3.x and 7.4 customers to Horizon 8.0/Corinthian. We are testing those in conjunction with customers who represent different types and sizes of libraries.
URSA 2.6 and RSS
We will be enhancing our URSA 2.6 and RSS Interlibrary Loan products to ensure that they accommodate the 13-digit ISBN numbers. This will be available by the end of 2006.
