Utah Governor Jon M. Huntsman, Jr., visited the SirsiDynix office in Provo, Utah, on August 24, 2005, as part of his economic development program to improve the competitive environment in Utah for small- and medium-sized companies. Remarking that he considers SirsiDynix a key company in Utah, the governor committed to staying in touch with SirsiDynix and to working to help create an atmosphere in which the company can grow.
“SirsiDynix is pleased to be recognized as one of the key technology leaders in Utah,” said Don McCall, SirsiDynix chief operating officer. “We’re excited about this opportunity to share with Governor Huntsman our continued plans for growth and our commitment to helping libraries offer unparalleled access to resources for their users – students, parents, teachers, businesspeople, researchers, and other people in the state of Utah and worldwide. And we’re honored that the governor is taking an interest in SirsiDynix and working to make Utah an even better place in which to do business.”
After meeting with executives Don McCall and Jack Blount to hear about the company’s vision and information management solutions for libraries and their users, Governor Huntsman said that he had a much better understanding of the issues libraries face. He also noted that he was surprised by the large number of citizens served by SirsiDynix solutions – over 200 million worldwide.
At a reception held in his honor, the governor took time to greet SirsiDynix employees and to share some inspirational words about the future of the company and their role in that success.
The Provo office employs close to 200 out of a total of approximately 700 SirsiDynix employees worldwide.
