Users of the Dynix and Horizon integrated library systems from SirsiDynix won’t want to miss the 16th annual CODI Conference, which will take place Monday, November 7, 2005, through Wednesday, November 9, 2005. This year’s conference will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the Hilton Minneapolis, located at the heart of downtown and just a short distance from an array of excellent restaurants and attractions, like Orchestra Hall, Guthrie Theatre, Walker Art Center, and the Mall of America.
As always, libraries of all types and sizes will be able to choose from many informative, beneficial sessions to attend at this year’s conference, the theme of which is “Achieving Excellence.” The CODI program committee has put together an exciting schedule of programs and tracks – “Creating Synergy Between HIP and Your Library's Website,” “Show Me the Numbers: Using Statistics to Drive Management Planning,” and “What's All the Fuss About RSS?” to name a few. You can view the complete list here.
SirsiDynix CEO Patrick Sommers will open the conference and will be joined by other SirsiDynix executives in sharing the company’s vision and the opportunities for improved technology that the merger brings to Dynix and Horizon users.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Mark Minasi, best-selling author, technology columnist, commentator, and keynote speaker. Among his works are the Mastering series, including Mastering Windows Server 2003 and Mastering Windows NT Server, and The Complete PC Upgrade and Maintenance Guide. Minasi is also an expert on Linux, security, and the software industry in general. Be sure to catch his session on computer security, as well.
