- Cherry Hill (NJ) Digital Community Center: Check out Cherry Hill (NJ) Public Library’s plan for the future of community service. From Library Journal, http://www.sirsi.com/Pdfs/Clients/CherryHill_ArticleReprint.pdf
- Digital Heritage Room Grows: Sirsi Corp. has beefed up its recent Digital Heritage Room (DHR) solution with the addition of R.O.I. System, Innovative Document Imaging, and Backstage Library Works, which have come aboard as technology partners. DHR is an end-to-end hosted solution that simplifies the collection and management of digitized historical materials. Essentially any library with historical documents can hire Sirsi to digitize materials, as the DHR service includes server software (installation and configuration), scanning, and bulk loading of images and metadata. (From Library Journal, InfoTech, Industry News, September 1, 2004)
- Sirsi PocketCirc: Sirsi has introduced Sirsi PocketCirc, a new circulation staff solution. The new product merges the simplicity of a hand-held device with the online and offline circulation functions of Sirsi's WorkFlows staff client and Unicorn Library Management System-including the ability to use wireless connections. (From MultiMedia & Internet @ Schools, Vol.11, No. 5, September 2004.)
- Sirsi Joins VIEWS: “Sirsi has considerable expertise in providing interoperability between our systems and those of other technology providers," said Berit Nelson, Sirsi vice president of product management. "Sirsi is delighted to be a part of VIEWS; we look forward to working with our counterparts to develop open solutions.” A VIEWS website is currently being constructed, but until that is ready, information from the meetings is posted on the NISO (http://www.niso.org/committees/VIEWS/VIEWS-info.html) website.
