AFCEA Participates in DISA Education Expo
To continually facilitate the educational improvement opportunities for their more than 6,000 military and civilian employees, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) annually sponsors an education expo. This year’s expo was held on August 7 in Falls Church, Virginia, with the theme, “Education—Your Future Is Now.” Participants included local colleges and universities, companies that offer professional development courses and certification programs, and organizations with an individual membership that enhance networking opportunities.
For the second consecutive year, AFCEA participated in the expo. Alisa Corrales, PDC registrar/marketing assistant, attended on behalf of AFCEA’s Professional Development Center (PDC) and handed out the new
PDC Fall/Spring Catalog. She also spoke to more than 75 attendees about the advantages of signing up for one of the courses, pointing out the PDC courses that would be of particular interest to DISA employees. Jenny Pereira, assistant in AFCEA’s Plans Department, also attended the expo and shared information about the benefits of AFCEA membership and encouraged attendees to join the association. Pereira serves on the AFCEA Educational Foundation's Education Committee.
