Awards for Academic Excellence
 
Rear Adm. Paul E. Tobin, USN (Ret.) (r), vice president and executive director, AFCEA Educational Foundation, presents the Capt. Boyd R. Alexander, USN, Honor Award to Midshipman Stephan Todorov Koev at the U.S. Naval Academy during ceremonies in May. This annual academic-excellence award, a personally engraved Chelsea ship’s clock, is presented to those midshipmen who graduate first in electrical engineering at each of the five service academies.
 



During ceremonies in May 2004, Col. Patricia A. Dooley, USA, president of the AFCEA West Point Chapter, presents the Brig. Gen. Boyd Wheeler Bartlett award for excellence in electrical engineering to Cadet Patrick J. Davis. 
 
 
 





Chief Master Sgt. Ron Reed, USAF (Ret.), vice president, AFCEA Montgomery Chapter, presented the following two awards on behalf of the foundation in May at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.
 

Montgomery Chapter Vice President Chief Master Sgt. Ron Reed, USAF (l), presents the AFCEA Award for Research at the Air War College to Lt. Col. Richard A. Lipsey, USAF, for his paper “Network Warfare Operations: Unleashing the Potential.”


 
Maj. Martin Schlacter, USAF (r), receives the AFCEA Award for Research at the Air Command and Staff College for his paper “Battlespace Awareness for Network Defense: Legal Framework and Operational Requirements.” Chief Master Sgt. Reed made the presentation.
