AFCEA Canada
Corporations and Individuals to Benefit from Canadian Office
http://www.afcea.ca

The AFCEA Canada office is operational and working to improve the value of AFCEA membership to corporations and individuals in Canada. The association recently hired Col. Marv Sywyk (Ret.) to serve as the Canadian general manager.

Some of the areas the office will address include creating a national program of professional development and social and networking events. These events will include technical professional development, the executive breakfast series held in Ottawa, and an increased number of events in conjunction with Canadian Chapters.

Sywyk plans to update, revitalize and redefine the program of Canadian awards. This will be in conjunction with the Canadian and International Educational Funds and the Canadian awards committee.

The AFCEA Canadian office will be working with Canadian chapters to improve their visibility and participation. An increase in local events with high quality guest speakers will help meet this goal. Canadian chapters will be encouraged to take full advantage of the services provided by AFCEA International.

Sywyk and Gilles Dupont, President and CEO of AFCEA Canada, attended the association's board of directors meeting last month and visited with many members of the international staff.

For more information about becoming involved with AFCEA Canada, contact the general manager or visit them on the web at www.afcea.ca
