External Multidisplay Device
Sometimes two displays are better than one for design or security applications where a user must keep track of separate documents or image streams. The DualHead2Go Digital Edition Graphics eXpansion Module is an external multidisplay upgrade device that connects to the video graphics array output of notebook or desktop computers and expands the images across two displays. The device is designed to add an additional display to a closed mission-critical system or to computers with no available expansion slots. For more information, visit www.matrox.com.

Wireless Sealed Keyboard
Working with any device in rugged conditions can be difficult, but operating computer equipment can be especially challenging. The OIX 7116-U wireless radio frequency keyboard eliminates the need for keyboard cables and mouse cables as well as the line-of-sight requirements imposed by infrared systems. The keyboard is powered by three AA batteries and has a 30-foot range. It is sealed with a silicone rubber coating that resists spills, splashes and hose-directed water. For more information, visit www.cyberresearch.com/keyboards.

Tunable Light Source

This software-controlled wavelength tunable light source can be used for testing the sensitivity of optical sensors and the bandwidth absorption of different materials as well as for color matching and characterization. The device features Windows-XP-compatible, software-controlled wavelength selection from 360 to 1,000 nanometers in addition to scanning between wavelengths and a universal serial bus interface. For more information, visit www.optometrics.com.

Linear Potentiometer
Getting the right sensor information is vital for mission-critical applications. This linear potentiometer can be used in a variety of aerospace applications, including as an actuator sensor. The device is engineered for a long rotational life of 10 million cycles. For more information, visit www.specsensors.com.

Handheld Browser
Wireless networking can put a strain on many handheld devices. The Opera Mini Web browser is designed to provide full Internet access to the majority of mobile phones in the market. It uses a server to preprocess and compress Web sites before sending them to the handset. The browser allows users to download images and MP3 files directly to their mobile phones. For more information, visit www.operamini.com.

High-Speed Fiber Optic Interface
This line of data acquisition and control cubes extends the distance between an input/output device and its host computer from a 100-meter Ethernet range to a 2-kilometer range. The DNA-FPPC series of 100BASE-FX cubes offers distributed data acquisition and control in large facilities or in any application where the host computer must be remote from the input/output subsystem. For more information, visit www.ueidaq.com.

Iraq Deployment Survey

How will sending more U.S. troops to Iraq affect the operation?

Violence will decrease, and the U.S. will be able to withdraw the majority of its troops sooner.

Resentment from Iraqis is likely to grow, and the number of U.S. casualties will increase.

It won't change a thing.
