BMW recently announced the availability of BMW M Performance Parts specifically designed for the 2012 BMW 3 Series Sedan and 5 Series Sedan. As with the BMW M Performance Parts currently available for elite high-performers like the BMW M3, BMW 1 Series M Coupe, BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M, the long list of enviable accessories offered for the BMW 3 Series and 5 Series sedans combines advanced racing technology with everyday driving amenities. 

 

Developed in collaboration with BMW M GmbH, BMW M Performance Parts are subjected to rigorous manufacturing and testing procedures to ensure their superiority. Exclusive chassis, cockpit, powertrain and aerodynamic components are now available for the BMW 3 Series and 5 Series Sedans, and the catalog will expand in late 2012.

 

 

Years of racing experience have helped BMW engineers perfect vehicle response and handling features. The 20-inch BMW M Performance forged alloy wheel set, available for both the BMW 3 Series and 5 Series, reduces vehicle weight by 1,000 grams per wheel (compared to similar wheels), resulting in a decrease in unsprung mass and better steering response. The wheel set features an exclusive bi-color design that showcases the M logo, and the wheel/tire combinations are the largest size approved by the automaker.

 

Complementing the wheels is a Brembo big-brake kit with painted calipers. Large, internally-vented, lightweight-construction sports brake discs offer improved thermal resistance, as well as reduced water film build-up between the brake lining and disc surface. M Performance Red, Yellow or Orange painted calipers will turn heads behind the 20-inch wheels.

 

 

M Performance cockpit equipment and accessories feature innovative technology, Motorsport design and materials of the highest quality. A new racing-inspiring steering wheel for the 3 Series Sedan features a flattened lower rim, hand-stitched Alcantara material and a red stripe at the top so drivers can tell wheel position at a glance. A seven-piece carbon fiber and Alcantara interior trim set features carbon fiber pieces made with an “open-pore” finish and sealed with a special silk matte protective lacquer. A BMW M Performance gear shift knob and selector lever are available, as well.

 

 

Using cutting-edge CAD and FEM technology, BMW has developed an M Performance Exhaust System for the BMW 335i and 535i sedans. This stainless steel exhaust system enhances the sound quality and volume of the BMW inline six-cylinder engine, creating a powerful, sporty tone, and exhaust backpressure is reduced. The two chrome-plated 80mm exhaust tips are laser-engraved with the M logo and lend a unique and sophisticated look.

 

 

Expressive design, coupled with precise engineering, make for the perfect blend of form and function. Available high-gloss black kidney grilles give the BMW 3 Series and 5 Series sedans a menacing look, while BMW M Performance Sport Stripes (printed on high-quality PVC film) offer drivers the ultimate racing aesthetic. Stripes are available in black or white.

 

Handmade carbon fiber mirror caps are clear-coated to protect from harmful UV rays. Drivers of the BMW 5 Series Sedan can pair the mirror caps with a carbon fiber rear deck lid spoiler for improved vehicle stability and driving dynamics.

 

 

All products carry a BMW four-year/ 50,000-mile warranty if installed prior to delivery of the new vehicle. When installed after delivery, BMW M Performance Parts are covered for the balance of the new vehicle limited warranty or two years from the date of installation, whichever is greater.
