The Cadillac XT5 crossover puts Cadillac luxury and craftsmanship in the hands of a new group of buyers.
The 2017 Cadillac XT5 (MSRP $38,995) is sized just right to win against competitors like the Audi Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class. The XT5 offers more space than the competition, and more than its predecessor, the SRX. Rear legroom increases more than three-inches in the XT5 compared with the SRX, yet weight has been kept down. The all-new XT5 body structure is strong and this new platform is hundreds of pounds lighter than other vehicles of its type.
The XT5 is a smart choice for whatever you need in a vehicle – it’s that versatile. The handsome exterior is crisp and chiseled, and the cabin is generously-sized and finely-crafted. Starting with the 3.6L XT5 trim, you get lots of standard equipment, including an eight-speaker Bose® audio system, a power rear liftgate, keyless access, remote start, and the latest generation of OnStar® with 4G LTE connectivity. There are also 3.6L Luxury, 3.6L Premium Luxury and 3.6L Platinum variants.
As you climb the trim ladder standard or available amenities include an UltraView® power glass sunroof, leather upholstery, three-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, heated outboard rear seats and a heated steering wheel.
In the 2017 XT5, an all-new 3.6-liter V6 delivers 310 hp and 271 lb/ft of torque. It’s an all-aluminum engine, with strong power and outstanding economy. Efficiency is boosted by Active Fuel Management, which smoothly deactivates engine cylinders when full power isn’t needed. A Stop/Start system shuts the engine down to save fuel at red lights and in similar situations. These fuel-saving measures also reduce emissions.
Cadillac pairs the V6 with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Electronic Precision Shift, a new electronically-controlled shifter, has two benefits. It keeps noise and vibration down, and it creates more usable space in the center console. Front-wheel drive is standard, or choose the new twin-clutch all-wheel drive system, which is designed to provided enhanced traction in sloppy, slippery conditions and sharpen handling when things are dry.
Sophisticated and elegant, the XT5 cabin heralds the future of all Cadillac models. Horizontally-oriented surfaces emphasize the spaciousness, and materials and colors are expressive and rich. There are five interior color and trim choices, including carbon fiber, genuine wood and two types of aluminum.
The Cadillac CUE system––now with a faster, more powerful processor––provides the latest in connectivity and control. The XT5 also introduces Cadillac’s new Rear Camera Mirror system, which improves rear vision by displaying video from a rear-facing camera within the rearview mirror. A high-dynamic-range camera works with video processing software to provide an unobstructed view that’s 300 percent better.
There’s also wireless charging, 4G wireless connectivity, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and Apple CarPlay™ and Android Audio™ integration. A configurable Heads-Up Display is offered, and driver-assistance features include automatic low-speed front and rear braking, Front and Rear Park Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping Assist, Side Blind Zone Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control, among others.
The all-new Cadillac XT5 is ready to take you wherever you want to go, with luxury, sophistication, and technology. It’s the new Cadillac of crossovers, and it has other brands playing catch up. Come in for more information and a test drive today.
