Opportunities Abound for F&I in February

This month’s issue of F&I Insight takes a look at hidden opportunities for F&I success. Although Edmunds.com reported that January U.S. new vehicle sales are expected to be down 2.9 percent from January 2007, F&I’s contribution to dealer profit is again on the rise. In fact, F&I now makes up almost half of total profits. And, Edmunds.com estimated that the average automotive manufacturer incentive was $2,472 per vehicle sold in December, up 6.8 percent from December 2006.

Vehicle theft is decreasing throughout the United States due to a layered approach featuring aftermarket theft products, but more can be done. California and Texas are still big targets for vehicle theft, and since these are the two most populated states in the country, a huge customer base is still out there in need of education about theft protection products. Additionally, tire and wheel road hazard protection is now approved in California. Be sure to read more about all of these opportunities in this issue, and don’t forget to share your outlook for 2008 in the survey.
