Chairman's Corner
by Howard Epstein

Dear Fellow Republicans,

Looking forward to 2009 and 2010, please help me welcome the new Executive Committee of the San Francisco Republican Party.  Elected unanimously by fellow Republican Central Committee members, these volunteers give of their time and talents to help promote our interests in the City.  Working on everything from updating mundane bylaws and developing budgets to fundraising to help move the Republican agenda forward in San Francisco, this group deserves our thanks.

As the Chairman of the San Francisco Republican Party, let me introduce my fellow Executive Committee members:
  • Bill Campbell, Secretary
  • Richard Worner, Treasurer
  • James Anderer, Vice Chair Finance
  • Brooke Chappell, Vice Chair Special Events
Harmeet K. Dhillon, Vice Chair Communications
  • Walter D. Armer, Vice Chair Political Affairs
  • James Kincaid, Vice Chair Precinct Operations
  • These volunteers cannot accomplish changes in the City by themselves.  They need your support and help. An immediate need is to stop the San Francisco Board of Supervisors from declaring an emergency and holding a special election intended to raise your taxes.  See Is There Any Tax the Board of Supervisors Don’t Like? in this issue.

Another great way to get involved is to join a local Republican club.  With the White House, Congress, the Legislature and the Board of Supervisors in the hands of Democrats, getting to know fellow Republicans is a great way to “let your hair down” and exchange ideas!  Click here to read more about local Republican organizations.

The California Republican Party Convention takes place February 20-22 in Sacramento and will  look forward to 2010 when Californians will elect a new governor.  All registered Republicans in San Francisco are encouraged to be a part of the California Republican Convention.  If you’d like to be an Associate Delegate, send an email to contact@sfgop.org.  While Associate Delegates do note vote at the convention unless they carry a proxy, they do enjoy all of the other benefits, including attending the general session and workshops, meeting Republicans from across the state, including office holders, and having the opportunity to purchase tickets for luncheons and dinners featuring interesting guest speakers.

Get on board!  Let’s work together to fight tax increases in San Francisco and elect a Republican governor in 2010!  We have a lot to accomplish in the next two years.

    Sincerely,
    Howard Epstein
    Chairman
