Use syndicated research to look at competitive spending directionally. If we assume the numbers are inaccurate, we can assume they're inaccurate across the board. We use the research to report on relative differences in spending across advertisers, as well as providing a reasonably good creative "clipping" tool to analyze creative and messaging. Borders' newest venture, KeepMedia is an online portal that provides access to archives of 140 magazines for a monthly fee of about $5. It's also a one-stop entry point for current news, for those people who already hold subscriptions to any one of its publications. Oracle and Yahoo announced a relationship to provide enterprise customers with more news choices for their employee portals.
