We recently caught up with Ed Steinberg, Vice President of Human Resources with Synygy:
Tell us about your new VP of Sales and his plans for the sales organization in 2003.
Synygy's new Executive Vice President of Sales is John Buie, a twenty-year veteran of business solution sales, including roles as VP of Business Intelligence Solutions at Oracle and VP Sales at JPMorgan Chase and Warburg-Pincus portfolio companies. Buie is a sales effectiveness thought leader, having co-founded SalesTraction, Inc., a Falls Church, VA-based sales process effectiveness firm. Buie developed the PainPowerFit method for sales management. In 2003, with a slew of new products and growing demand, Synygy is doubling its sales capacity, expanding its international presence, focusing on key vertical markets and making substantial investments in the continuous improvement of its sales process and infrastructure.
What are some of the key positions currently open at Synygy?
Several key opportunities exist for line sales directors in the East and West; global account managers with stature in financial services, high technology, government, manufacturing and healthcare markets; and account managers in SF, LA or Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta or Memphis, Miami or Charlotte and New England. Synygy also has openings for technical sales consultants.
For your director level positions, what kinds of candidates are you looking for?
Business performance sales veterans with a process orientation, charisma and discipline. Individuals with proven performance records, but, as important, the desire to build a great sales team. Our directors will be natural coaches and competitive leaders.
What are the most imporant attributes that Synygy looks for in potential sales candidates?
We look for intelligent, insatiably curious and customer-centric business professionals. Members of our sales team are problem solvers, have a high tolerance for ambiguity, want to build a business and hate to lose.
