As we at Saab of Charlotte hope for a solution in the Saab AB bankruptcy proceedings that will allow Saab to continue as an automaker, please be assured that we are committed to providing quality service and parts for your Saab for years to come. Be aware, also, that Saab Parts AB and Saab Cars North America are not part of the bankruptcy proceedings so parts availability should not be an issue going forward. Below is the latest official statement from Saab Cars North America:
December 23, 2011
Dear Valued Saab Customer:
As you may be aware, on Monday December 19, 2011 our parent company, Swedish Automobile N.V.
(SWAN), announced that Saab Automobile AB, Saab Automobile Tools AB and Saab Powertrain AB
filed for bankruptcy with the District Court in Vanersborg, Sweden. Saab Cars North America has
elected to pursue an out-of-court solution for its North American operations. The SCNA Board of
Directors believes this is the best course of action to maximize the enterprise value for its customers,
dealers and creditors. McTevia & Associates, a nationally renowned and respected financial advisor to
companies in transition, has been chosen to direct the process.
In light of these developments, we apologize for any inconvenience you may encounter during this
transition.
As we continue to work closely with our dealer network, we are aggressively working to determine a
solution that will provide warranty coverage for Saab vehicles covering model years 2010 and 2011. As
has been previously reported, GM is honoring Saab warranties for model year 2009 and prior years, sold
under GM.
Saab appreciates your loyalty, patronage and dedication to our iconic brand. We will continue to keep
you up-to-date on new developments.
Sincerely,
Tim Colbeck
President & COO
