Based on the Grand Touring Power Retractable Hardtop model, the MX-5 Miata Special Edition comes equipped with a large assortment of comfort and convenience options. The motorized hardtop can be raised or lowered in 12 seconds, and affords owners the convenience of closed top safety and comfort while having the flexibility of open top motoring during those nice Sunday drives. All Special Edition cars also come standard with the Premium and Suspension Packages. The Premium Package adds amenities like satellite radio, Bluetooth® and Xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights. On manual-equipped models, the Suspension Package adds Bilstein shocks, a limited-slip rear differential and a sport-tuned suspension. The Mazda MX-5 Miata Special Edition is available in two colors: Velocity Red and Crystal White Pearl. Regardless of your color choice, your new car will come equipped with a Black Mica top, a first for North America. The grille, foglight housing and mirrors have all been given the blackout treatment as well, and a set of 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels in a Black Gunmetal finish round out the visual package. This gives the new Special Edition MX-5 a unique look that is sporty and unique while still maintaining the crisp lines that have helped make the car so popular.
The interior also offers a host of visual upgrades. The cabin is swathed in supple black leather upholstery with contrasting gray stitching on the heated seats, parking brake handle, door trim and steering wheel. Piano black inserts are built into the steering wheel spokes and dashboard to add a touch of class and luxury while the black-finished rollbar and pedals lend the cabin a sporty feel.
