Vehicle Profile: 2018 Ford Focus
Discover what has helped make the Explorer a staple in Ford’s lineup for decades

The Ford Focus is one of the top-selling compact cars in the world. For 2018, it returns with all of the features, performance and quality that have earned it such global approval.

One of the 2018 Ford Focus’s main draws is its features. Across all four trims, the Focus is equipped with a great number of standard and available amenities. On the base model, steering-wheel audio controls, a rearview camera and Bluetooth® streaming are all standard. Upgrading to the SE gets you a moonroof, heated seats and satellite radio.

Going one step further up to the SEL trim gets you the latest SYNC® 3 infotainment system as well as ambient lighting, while opting for the top-of-the-line Titanium unlocks dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery and a 10-speaker Sony audio system. Whatever your budget, there’s likely to be the perfect Ford Focus for you.

There are many engines available for the 2018 Ford Focus, starting with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 160 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. Other options include two turbocharged EcoBoost® engines, a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder and an electric powertrain on the EV model. Power goes up to 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque on the 2.3-liter EcoBoost® while fuel economy reaches a lofty 30 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway on the three-cylinder.* A six-speed dual-clutch is available and, on upper trims, the Focus also comes with paddle shifters.

The message is clear: if you want high performance, or if you want great mileage, you can have them; and if you want a mix of both, you can have that too.

Drivers who get behind the wheel of a compact car often have reasonable concerns about safety. The 2018 Ford Focus delivers peace of mind by offering a standard rearview camera in addition to a number of active and passive safety technologies, including a driver knee airbag and optional blind spot monitoring, active lane assistance, rear parking sensors and Active Park Assist — a clever system that will virtually park the car for you. Thanks to its excellent engineering, the Ford Focus earned the highest overall five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Smart, safe and fun to drive, the 2018 Ford Focus is the perfect commuter car.

*EPA-estimated city/hwy mpg for the model indicated. See fueleconomy.gov for fuel economy of other engine/transmission combinations. Actual mileage will vary. On plug-in hybrid models and electric models, fuel economy is stated in MPGe. MPGe is the EPA equivalent measure of gasoline fuel efficiency for electric mode operation.
