River Rafting to Opera!

What a summer it has been!  Hopefully you have all had the opportunity to travel, explore new horizons and treasure new and wonderful experiences -  I have, and will share my two last trips with you in this month's eNewsletter!

First I spent an incredible week on the magnificent Colorado River, rafting through the Grand Canyon!  This trip is not your "normal" seven day cruise, and with Western River Expeditions, it is also not your "normal" camping weekend!  It was a great experience - somewhere in between!

Our expedition started in No. Las Vegas with a flight to Marble Canyon and a VERY rustic little airport, which was in reality a dirt runway and a little asphalt - just to make it look good!  Here we met our guides who would educate us, laugh with us, cook for us and play with us for the next week.  We also loaded up on sodas, evening refreshments and met the rest of our fearless fellow adventurers!  There was a total of 36 guests and four guides on our trip, all accommodated on two large "J-Rig" rafts.  We loaded up and headed off on our adventure!

I was actually traveling by myself on this adventure, but before the first set of rapids on day one, our boat of eighteen intrepid travelers became fast friends - and felt like we had know each other for years!  For information on next years trip - Click Here!

My second trip of July was to Santa Fe and The Santa Fe Opera House - quit a contrast to a week on the river.  It was my birthday weekend and I have a good friend who has recently graduated after her Senior Year at the University of Florence, Italy and was accepted as an Intern at the Santa Fe Opera.  I was joined by some friends from Albuquerque for this little "cultural" adventure!

Santa Fe is a unique town, of world class art and opera, a town of shopping and galleries and of wandering!  It is a town of restaurants, and cafes and watering holes.  We stayed at the historic El Dorado Hotel located right next to the Santa Fe Plaza - we were right in the center of all the activity!

Well, I had never been to an Opera, and not sure if I ever will again!  But the Santa Fe Opera  is a magnificent structure and venue for live performance.  It is all outside, open to the elements and the awesome New Mexico sunsets!  The show started at 9:00 PM after the sun had dropped, making it a great "after dinner" event!

As I write this, I am in Tucson, Arizona enjoying my condo and the warm dry heat by the pool!  It REALLY is is dry heat!  :)  We are also preparing for the Grand Opening of our newest office on the West side of Tucson.

Thanks for your business and referrals!  Enjoy the rest of your summer - we look forward to serving you and your family and friends for all your vacation travel needs!
