The Client Concern
In an industry used to rigid pricing, Stericycle wanted customers to have flexible new options for choosing their products and services. Needing to act quickly – despite an overtaxed IT department- the company formed a small team of business analysts to launch a pilot using interim systems based on common tools like Microsoft Access to offer new pricing models. Stericycle executive Bill Mundo knew that his business-savvy team would need help to advance their technical skills to keep pace.
The Entec Data Systems Approach
Enter Entec. Stericycle liked the company’s technical expertise and were delighted to meet Tom Ennis. Mundo remembers, “We saw that Tom was a combination technical guru, mentor and teacher. We needed all three.” Entec offered an attractive option – Flex-sourcing – that provided a regular weekly time for Ennis to meet with Stericycle’s business analysts. At each visit, Ennis tackled the team’s design and technical questions – with an eye towards developing skills while keeping an aggressive schedule.
Client Feedback
Says Mundo, “Tom was exactly the resource we needed. He never lost sight that our team needs to be independent. He gave us both expertise and education with a flexible, predictable schedule”. Mundo has come to appreciate another advantage. “With the success of the pilot, Tom’s original design concepts serve as a model for the production systems we’re developing to keep our success going.”
