In 2005, award-winning filmmaker Werner Herzog released a documentary about one of the most eccentric nature enthusiasts the world has ever known: Timothy Treadwell. For 13 consecutive years, Treadwell traveled to Alaska during the summer months to live among the bears. Compassionate, yet emotionally fragile, Treadwell became known as the Grizzly Man, filming all of his interactions in a very personal video diary. In 2003, Treadwell’s adventure ended when he was fatally mauled by a hungry bear. The camera was rolling the whole time.
