Quantapoint Deliverables

After Quantapoint rapidly collects, registers and verifies billions of measurements to provide a consistent and up-to-date "digitized facility" of as-built laser documentation that is integrated, complete and accurate, our clients have several product deliverables to choose to best represent their project needs.

  • 2D Laser Images™ - accuracy with a photo-realistic appearance.
  • 3D Laser Models™ - models may be rotated, sections hidden to remove obstructions.  Easily sharable.
  • 2D Drawings - traditional drawings that are both verified and accurate.
  • QuantaModels™ - realistic, animated walk-throughs and 360-degree panoramic virtual environments.
  • QuantaMation™ - 3D animations combining 3D laser models with 3D CAD models to visualize a construction project.

Quantapoint and Herbert S. Newman and Partners Renovate the Troup Magnet Academy

The Troup Magnet Academy of Science was included in a $45 million dollar renovation project. Herbert S. Newman and Partners understood that restoring the school in a respectful and historically accurate manner would require a detailed understanding of the structure, including exterior elevations and intricate brick patterns on the façade.  Unfortunately, no existing conditions documentation was available and re-creating it manually had proven to be a time-consuming and costly manual process for the architects.

Quantapoint "digitized" the structure using integrated laser scanning. The digitized building was used to create a variety of 2D drawings to fully document the building.  Q-Views™ software enables images of the digitized building to be accessed on the desktop.  According to Mr. Tim Callahan, "We found the Q-Views invaluable in understanding the detailing of the building.  The design team could use the Q-View to perform a 'virtual' site visit by reviewing a 360-degree image of the space.  I can’t tell you how many times our team had a question about the building and would simply open up the Q-View to find the information needed, easily, accurately and quickly.  This alone saved countless costly and time-consuming trips to the field."

For Quantapoint it could be said this was another win of "historic" proportions.

The New Jersey Statehouse, Trenton NJ

The New Jersey Statehouse renovation required very detailed and accurate documentation of both the interior and exterior of the building.  The distinct multi-floor design presented unique challenges which included multiple roof areas, intricate ornamental detailing and extreme exterior elevations.  Also, structural and mechanical systems were to be reworked.  Unfortunately,no existing condition documentation was available.  Quantapoint scanned the 150,000 square foot structure in six days, using the digitized structure to create detailed richly detailed 2D drawings that were delivered to the architects in less than 4 ½ weeks.  This enabled the architects to remain within budget, meet their deadlines and preserve the beauty of an American treasure.
