As-Built Laser Documentation for the Architectural Industries

Various 2D Drawings Created by Quantapoint from As-Built Laser DocumentationArchitectural personnel face a number of existing condition (or “as-built”) documentation challenges during additions and alterations of existing structures.  These include lack of documentation or obsolete documentation, slow and potentially error-prone manual collection of documentation, and difficulty sharing and managing documentation.  The cost of this missing, inaccurate or misunderstood as-built documentation is time and money in the form of field rework, missed schedules and construction delays.

Quantapoint
uses integrated laser scanning to provide the fastest, easiest and most cost-effective solution for creating detailed and highly accurate existing condition (or “as-built”) documentation for the architectural industries.

With more than
350 architectural projects, Quantapoint provides a consistent and complete “digitized structure” of easily shareable as-built laser documentation that can include dimensionally accurate and photo-realistic 2D laser scans, interactive 3D laser models and verified 2D drawings, such as elevations, sections and more.

With more accurate and complete information for design, fabrication and construction decisions, rework can be reduced by more than 80% while minimizing on-site presence and preserving architectural details.

Quantapoint Helps WJE Significantly Reduce Project Cost and Time While Improving Quality

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) was asked to develop plans for repairs needed to an historic facade of one of New York City's largest museums.  There were minimal existing drawings so WJE had to survey and document the facade while minimizing disturbance to the structure and its landscaped site.

According to Timothy Allanbrook, a Senior Consultant for WJE, Quantapoint brought many benefits to the project. "Without their services we would have had to depend on the few fragments of historic drawings that we had been able to find.  Without them we would have needed at least three times more staff to complete the assignment."
