Quantapoint Accurately Documents a Food and Beverage Plant
A leading beverage manufacturer was planning to demolish an existing mainifold system and replace it with a new one. Quantapoint performed laser scanning of the exisiting manifold system to create a 3D model, accurately locating tie-in points for lines into and discharge piping from the manifold. A scan was also completed on the new manifold system at the fabricator's shop. This data was imported into the 3D model to verify tie-in points, elevations, and to verify that it physically fit within the allocated space. Several potential tie-ins and other problems were identified and corrected while the equipment was still in the shop.
Had Quantapoint not been used, these issues would have likely lead to a delay in startup, resulting in significant lost production.

Digitized Platforms Enables Zero-Defect Construction
Offshore Magazine Article
With oil prices at $60 per barrel or higher, many offshore platforms are being modified to keep production levels as high as possible. Unfortunately, many platforms have little or no as-built (or existing condition) documentation. Additionally, much of what does exist is out-of-date or of questionable integrity.
Bad or non-existent as-built documentation increases the risk for misalignment of piping and other equipment, obstructions in areas targeted for modification, and increased rework and hot work...
