The Nissan Pathfinder has been carrying people through dense jungles, vast savannahs and a multitude of other harsh environments for more than two decades. While the Pathfinder is indeed a worthy vehicle for such pursuits, it is also a comfortable and capable companion for the concrete jungles, as well. For 2012, the Nissan Pathfinder is ready to handle whatever your life may send its way.
The 2012 Nissan Pathfinder (MSRP $28,940) features broad shoulders, large integrated fender flares and large headlamps that help define its rugged stance and athletic ability.
The seven-passenger 2012 Pathfinder is available in S, SV, Silver Edition, LE V6 and LE V8 trims. Motivation for the Pathfinder comes from a proven 4.0-liter V6 that produces 266 hp and 288 lb/ft of torque, or the available 5.6-liter V8 with 310 hp and an impressive 388 lb/ft of torque. Thanks to these powerful engines and the Pathfinder’s rugged, truck-style frame, it is able to tow a maximum of 7,000 pounds when properly equipped.
The Nissan Pathfinder is also available with a choice of two advanced four-wheel drive systems, both of which offer two-speed transfer cases with low-range gearing. The Shift-on-the-Fly system allows drivers to move from 2WD to 4WD with the flick of switch while traveling at speeds up to 60 mph. The All-Mode 4WD® system, available in LE V8 4x4 models, instantly distributes torque to all four wheels when needed. Select the “Auto” setting and the All-Mode system will automatically shift between 2WD and 4WD as conditions dictate. Fuel economy for the Pathfinder is an EPA-estimated 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
A favorite of explorers and off-road enthusiasts, the 2012 Pathfinder is as comfortable and luxurious as it is rugged and dependable. Inside is a three-row, seven-passenger setup with a fold-down front passenger seat, a 50/50-split fold-flat third-row seat and a 40/20/40-split/folding second row that tips up for easy third-row access. This layout provides an impressive amount of versatility – up to 64 separate seating configurations are possible. To keep things comfortable remote keyless entry and air conditioning with in-cabin microfilter come standard. The spacious cabin features a multitude of storage spaces, including eight cupholders, and is equipped with four 12-volt outlets to accommodate whatever needs power.
Available technology enhancements include the Nissan Intelligent Key® keyless entry and ignition system, Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System, HomeLink® Universal Transceiver and a Bose® audio system. There is also an available DVD entertainment system with a seven-inch color rear monitor and rear-seat wireless headphones. To increase the comfort and luxury of your new Pathfinder, Nissan also offers dual-zone automatic temperature control and power-adjustable pedals (both standard on all but S models), a power moonroof, wood-grain trim and leather-appointed seats.
The 2012 Pathfinder is equipped with advanced occupant safety equipment. The Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) features dual-stage front airbags with seatbelt sensors and a front-passenger classification sensor that senses the weight of the passenger. There are supplemental front seat-mounted side-impact airbags and roof-mounted three-row curtain airbags for rollover protection, as well. Another advanced safety feature is the Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones. The Pathfinder features an energy absorbing steering column and front-seat Active Head Restraints to reduce whiplash injuries, as well as Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Traction Control System (TCS).
Safe, comfortable, versatile and practically indestructible – these are the defining characteristics of the Nissan Pathfinder. Call to schedule a test drive of the new 2012 Pathfinder and experience the difference today.
