Denver, Colo. -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency joined elected officials and partners from the Pueblo community at the Pueblo County Courthouse today to award a $280,273 grant to Citizens for Clean Air in Pueblo. The grant, awarded under EPA's Community Action for a Renewed Environment (CARE) program, will be used to fund activities to address risks from radon, lead, mold and household chemicals in homes across Pueblo County.  Pueblo is one of nine communities across the nation receiving a Level II CARE grant to address community identified environmental health issues. 

After years of legal wrangling, the Pajaro Valley Unified School District has settled its lawsuit stemming from mold and water damage that occurred when Pajaro Valley High School was built.

According to court documents, the lawsuit, which was filed in August 2005, named contractors Dilbeck & Sons Inc., WLC Architects Inc. and insurance companies Westchester Surplus Lines Insurance and Steadfast Insurance.

PVUSD filed suit against the construction company and the architect, and submitted claims against both insurance companies to recover more than $4.3 million in damages.

It all started after we heard from a half dozen homeowners who claim the local duct cleaning company Indoor Air Solutions used high pressure sales and scare tactics to sell its service. What's worse, they say the work wasn't even done properly.  So, using hidden cameras, we decided to find out for ourselves.

Bob Holloway wanted to help his daughter get the ducts cleaned in her new home. After seeing an ad in a newspaper, he thought he found the right company to do it.
