Washington, DC -- The respiratory system is one of the most vital systems in human beings. This system enables the flow of fresh air (mainly oxygen) inside the body and discards the unhealthy air (mainly carbon dioxide) outside the body. It is estimated that air constitutes 80% by weight of the daily intake as a result of approximately 22,000 breaths. It is supposed that the air that we breathe must be pure and healthy.

 

Unfortunately, due to rapid industrialization, heavy urbanization and reluctant use of natural resources in the 21st century, environmental pollution becomes our life partner. Those who live in industrialized urban areas are especially exposed to air pollution each and every day.
