Washington, DC -- Indoor environmental screening of the home or work environment is important for individuals with allergies, chronic sinusitis, rhinitis, emphysema, asthma, atopic dermatitis, immune deficiencies, etc.  Good indoor air quality is difficult to detect as you cannot see it. Bad smells alone are not the only indicator of poor air quality. Interior rooms collect not only exhaled carbon dioxide and moisture from people and objects, but also numerous toxic chemicals and biological pathogens. These can enter the body via nose, mouth, skin, mucous membranes and eyes resulting in headaches, allergies, infections or other illnesses.

EPA Seeks to Disclose Hazardous Pesticide Inert Ingredients

Washington, DC -- The Environmental Protection Agency is moving forward with a plan to disclose the identities of all inert ingredients in pesticides including those that are potentially hazardous.  This increased transparency will assist consumers and users of pesticides in making informed decisions and will better protect public health and the environment.  Pesticide manufacturers typically disclose their inert ingredients only to EPA.  Currently, EPA evaluates the safety of all active and inert ingredients in a products formulation when determining whether the pesticide should be registered.

Insurance Companies May Not Cover Dundalk Damage

DUNDALK, Md. (WJZ) ― Shock is turning to outrage in Dundalk days after a water main break flooded the area. Many residents are outraged after learning the damage might not be covered by their insurance company.

Crews will begin replacing the broken 72-inch water main Tuesday. It's just one step of many before things try to return to normal.
