Atlanta, GA -- In the aftermath of Septembers devastating floods in Georgia renowned microbiologist Dr. Rajiv Sahay, Director of EDLab, a division of Pure Air Control Services reminds residents to be wary of what floodwaters leave behind—specifically, mycotoxin trichothecenes (toxin producing molds) growing on walls, behind walls, in the ceilings, under the carpets, behind cabinets, or in their ductwork.

Mycotoxins are chemical substance produced by the fungal metabolic process. As a matter of fact, these compounds are the secondary metabolites of fungal metabolism. Due to the absence of common molecular feature, the chemical category of these compounds is still not very certain.

ATLANTA, GA — Following torrential downpours and 100-year flooding that has ravished the Atlanta, GA region, residents are returning to what could be potentially dangerous environments.  Renowned microbiologist Dr. Rajiv Sahay, Director of the AIHA accredited laboratory Environmental Diagnostics Laboratory (EDLab), reminds residents to be wary of what floodwaters leave behind – bacteria (coliform e.g. E. coli ), chemicals, molds and more specifically, mycotoxin trichothecenes (toxin producing molds) growing on walls, behind walls, in the ceilings, under the carpets, behind cabinets, or in their ductwork.

KETTERING — A confirmed case of MRSA has turned up at Kettering Middle School, its principal said Friday, Sept. 18.

Principal Doug Cozad alerted parents and guardians about the situation in a phone message, according to a parent who contacted the Dayton Daily News.

Details as to how the school, 3000 Glengarry Drive, discovered the case were not immediately available.
