Orlando, FL., April 14, 2009 -- Pure Air Control Services presented an educational Indoor Air Quality – Addressing Your Customers Concerns workshop at the Florida’s Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association’s (FRACCA) annual educational conference at the Caribe Royale Convention Center held on April 3-4, 2009 in Orlando FL.  Attendees of the 2-hour IAQ workshop (approved by the DBPR Construction Industry Licensing Board (CLIB) # 0003199/0010889), received continuing education credits (CEU’s) for attendance and participation.  The course is also available to all contractors in Florida.

Lawmakers Seek Help for Homeowners With Repair or Replacement of Chinese-made Drywall

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sens. Bill Nelson and Mary Landrieu today filed legislation aimed at initiating a recall and imposing an immediate ban on tainted building products from China, as more and more people around the country are reporting problems in their homes built with imported drywall.

The centerpiece of their legislation is a resolution pressing the Consumer Product Safety Commission ( CPSC ) for a recall on Chinese-made drywall, based in part on findings by a Florida homebuilder and state officials who have confirmed the presence of sulfide gases in homes built with the drywall.

Mold Discovered in Cleveland Hotel

— CONNEAUT — A Monday morning inspection of the Cleveland Hotel found mold in portions of the building, said Sally Kennedy, city health commissioner.

The bank that holds the mortgage on the building will be contacted, but occupants are in no danger and use of the building won’t change, Kennedy said. “It’s not a problem,” she said.
