Governor Corzine Signs Legislation to Improve Environmental Safety at Schools and Child Care Centers

Governor Jon S. Corzine today signed legislation to help ensure that child care and educational facilities are environmentally safe for the children attending them. “This bill will help identify and remediate educational facilities and child care centers located on environmentally high risk sites,” Governor Corzine said. “This puts New Jersey at the forefront of states nationally in protecting children from environmental contaminants while at child care facilities and schools.”

Mold lawsuit settled for $775K

A 2004 lawsuit filed by a Marion Township family forced from their newly constructed $374,000 home because of toxic mold against a Brighton building company has been settled. Tom and Kimberly Szymczak settled their lawsuit Jan. 5 against A&T Development Inc. for $775,000, according to Living-ston County Circuit Court records.

Norovirus Cleaning Begins at Dulles Hotel

The Hilton Washington Dulles Airport hotel closed yesterday for the weekend so crews could scrub and sanitize every surface after about 120 employees and guests were sickened by the highly contagious norovirus, which officials say is particularly severe this year.
