Executive Summary On May 7, 1993, the New York City Department of Health (DOH), the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA), and the Mt. Sinai Occupational Health Clinic convened an expert panel on Stachybotrys atra in Indoor Environments. The purpose of the panel was to develop policies for medical and environmental evaluation and intervention to address Stachybotrys atra (now known as Stachybotrys chartarum (SC)) contamination. The original guidelines were developed because of mold growth problems in several New York City buildings in the early 1990's.

Parents rip school officials over mold

DRACUT -- A crowd of angry parents verbally pummeled school administrators last night, demanding to know what they knew about the serious mold problem at the Parker Avenue School and when did they know it. "Our children's lives were being affected and we weren't notified," said the mother of a second-grader, who did not give her name."That is totally irresponsible."

Mold, Water Damage Closes School Wing

TIGARD, Ore. - Major water damage and mold have sent some Tigard High School students to portable classrooms.Last spring, an inspector discovered damage to the foreign language wing."The water got behind the exterior of the building and it caused some rotting and some mold on the studs, and so they're replacing those studs and putting a new exterior on," Principal Pam Henslee told KOIN News 6.

Elementary school in Hatch shut down due to mold

LAS CRUCES — The youngest students in Hatch Valley Public Schools are still feeling the effects of this summer's devastating floods. Kindergarten through second-graders who would normally be in class at Hatch Elementary School have been shuttled to alternate schools while the district struggles to deal with mold issues due to the flooding, according to city officials.
