Start of school can bring asthma attacks

Colin Johnson is only allowed to have a few stuffed animals on his bed at a time. He also can't have curtains or blinds or carpet.
Typically, those items make a bedroom feel comfortable, but if kept at breathing-level they could trigger an asthma attack for him.

Station walls filled with mold

WALPOLE -- The East Walpole Fire Station was closed this week after complaints of a bad smell in the building revealed extensive mold behind the second floor walls, Fire Chief Timothy Bailey said yesterday.
"It’s closed temporarily," he said. "It was prompted by the guys, who started to notice an odor down there and started to complain about it."
He said the station was shut down Thursday after inspections showed the firefighters’ training room had extensive moisture inside the walls.

DeAnn Wiley, 13, used to make frequent trips to the hospital for her asthma. After being released from her longest stay (23 days), she spent just four days at home before having to return.
"I said, 'Some things have got to change,' " said her mother, Rachelle King, whose younger daughter, Raquel, also has asthma. "I started slowly making changes because I wasn't quite educated enough on asthma to know the triggers."

Attorney Wins Failure To Disclose Toxic Mold Case For Seller

Four months after purchasing a condo from Kimberly Orlando and Nguyen Nguyen in Huntington Beach, California, the buyers filed a lawsuit against the sellers, their real estate agent, the homeowners association, the termite inspector and the home inspector. The plaintiffs alleged causes of action for negligence, fraud, breach of contract, and negligent misrepresentation against the sellers and sought over $250,000 in damages from the sellers. Others in the lawsuits had already settled, but Orlando and Nguyen decided to take their chances in court.
