Much media attention has been payed to the growth and presence of mold in the indoor environment. Another critical biological pollutant to consider is bacteria. Ubiquitous bacteria species can be found in a variety of substances and environments, including house dust and HVAC systems. Some species of bacteria can cause serious, disabling pulmonary disease in industrial or office workers.
