GENESEE COUNTY -- The Genesee County Health Department has reported it has received numerous calls this month from residents concerned about mold growing in their home.
If allowed to spread, mold can cause health problems and structural damage to homes. When present in large numbers, mold spores can cause allergic reactions, infections, and other respiratory problems.
County officials suggest that if a mold growth area exceeds 25 square feet, or if someone in the home starts developing symptoms, homeowners should consider testing.
