Starbucks reopens after mold removed
by The Brownsville Herald

The Starbucks at U.S. Expressway 77/83 and Boca Chica Boulevard has opened its doors again, after being closed for seven months due to a mold problem.

“Starbucks takes all potential health and safety issues very seriously,” said Gilbert Moya, district manager for Starbucks. The store first opened in April 2006 and closed that November.

The coffee shop reopened on June 29, but business hasn’t been as brisk as employees would like.

“We don’t get as many customers as before,” said store manager Jennifer Montoya.

“We used to get a lot more, now we only get around 50 customers a day.”
