CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Mold found in another dormitory at Austin Peay State University has forced more than two dozen students to move out temporarily.
Officials told students in a Hand Village building that they must move out by March 11, the first day of classes after spring break.
Mold was found in a crawl space beneath the building as officials investigated a water leak, but none was detected in the living areas.
An external environmental agency determined that the building's air quality was acceptable, but Austin Peay decided to vacate the building as a precaution.
Blount and Harvill residence halls were closed in August when freshmen were scheduled to move in because mold was found. The students spent the first few weeks in hotels.
An investigation found someone had set the thermostats on their lowest settings and the fan speeds on high, causing condensation and resulting in mold.
