Mold, Water Damage Closes School Wing
by KOIN News 6

TIGARD, Ore. - Major water damage and mold have sent some Tigard High School students to portable classrooms.Last spring, an inspector discovered damage to the foreign language wing."The water got behind the exterior of the building and it caused some rotting and some mold on the studs, and so they're replacing those studs and putting a new exterior on," Principal Pam Henslee told KOIN News 6.

For now, students are using eight portables left over from a major renovation project.

"During the winter when it's cold, it kinda sucks walking through here," one student told KOIN News 6.

The damaged wing is under repair and should be done in the spring. A district contingency fund is paying for the nearly $1 million renovation.
