Rowley post office suspends mail because of mold

ROWLEY, Iowa The post office in the eastern town of Rowley is closed -- because of mold.
The U-S Postal Service has issued a temporary emergency suspension of service after a chronically leaking roof caused mold and mildew to grow on an interior wall.
Mail is being rerouted through the Quasqueton (KWAHS'-kwee-tuhn) post office.
Rowley Mayor Rita Knutson says a meeting is set for Thursday to gather ideas to keep the post office open. The Buchanan County town has about 300 residents.
