D. Cockroach — Hypersensitivity to cockroach allergen has been implicated as a factor in "urban asthma.” It has been suggested to be as prevalent as ragweed hypersensitivity in the United States. Cockroach antigens may cause immediate skin reactions and immediate narrowing of airways, and should be considered as a cause of asthma in people with year-round problems.
