Methodist Hospital Building Closed For Black Mold
by Kerry Corum

New Media Producer: Kerry Corum
There's a new type of health risk being seen at Methodist Hospital in Henderson - black mold.

Their building at the south Y has been infested with the slimy black substance.

Hospital administrator Bruce Begley told the Gleaner that, although there is not very much of it, he decided to pull employees out of that building so they would not be in harm's way.

An employee in the counseling service found the mold in some ceiling tiles.

Black mold has been linked to respiratory problems, allergies and other lung disorders.

Begley says, until they get results of air quality tests, the building will not be used.
