The increasing concern about the adverse health effects associated with Stachybotrys has become the focus of everyone's attention. The strong cellulolytic ability of species of Stachybotrys (Udagawa 1984)allows it to grow on water-damaged building materials such as gypsum board, wallpaper and insulation (Gravesen et al 1999).
