Vehicle Profile: The 2012 Scion tC
The Scion tC is all about value.

The 2012 Scion tC turns heads everywhere it travels. This brilliant sports coupe has it all including looks, performance and technology. Since the tC is a Scion, an affordable starting price is assured.

The Scion tC starts at only $18,575, thousands less than the competition. A reasonable starting price like that can draw as much attention as beautiful sheet metal. Once it grabs your attention, the tC holds it with standard features that are pricey options on vehicles costing much more.

One great example is the standard Panoramic Glass Roof that doubles as an oversized power tilt and slide moonroof. That’s an amazing standard feature that is offered as an extra-cost option on even the most expensive luxury autos. The tC also features a standard leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls, chrome-tipped exhaust, air conditioning and a Multi-Information Display. The tC boasts standard 18-inch alloy wheels that really draw attention to an already attractive ride.

The front-drive tC comes standard with a silky-smooth, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing, 180 hp and 173 lb/ft of torque, which translates to a zero-to-60 time of around seven seconds. Scion tC drivers have a choice between a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission. Some cars trade fuel economy for amazing performance, but that’s not the Scion way. The tC is extremely efficient with an EPA estimated fuel economy of up to 31 mpg in highway driving.

Standard features also include a new, 300-watt Pioneer AM/FM/CD/USB audio system, Bluetooth and HD Radio. A leather-wrapped shiftknob and carbon fiber accents further increase the value of the tC. Scion is also known for its infotainment options, and the tC impresses with a choice of navigation-equipped sound systems and a 340-watt Pioneer Premium Audio System.

A stunning array of standard features make the tC a performance bargain, and safety advancements make this sporty coupe one of the safest vehicles on the road. The advanced body structure of the tC helps keep occupants safe in the event of a crash, as do advanced airbags. The tC also features Electronic Stability Control, which helps the driver keep the car moving in the intended direction during maneuvering or inclement weather. These safety features earned the tC a best possible “Five-Star” overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and helped the tC become a “Top Safety Pick” of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). That means the tC managed a top score of “Good” in front, side-impact and roof-strength testing. Amazing performance, top technology and award-winning safety? That’s value.

Competing sport coupes can’t touch the tC on price, and the 2012 Scion tC proves that a sports coupe doesn’t need to cost $30,000 or more to be special. Stop by for a firsthand glimpse of the 2012 Scion tC Coupe.
